Hi, I'm Roki. I'm 30, a father of one, and I live in Japan.

I'm not a sommelier or a distillery insider — just someone living in Japan who actually shops the liquor stores here, reads the Japanese-language labels, and can tell you what's genuinely worth trying versus what's just export-market marketing.

This site exists because most Japanese sake and whisky coverage outside Japan is written secondhand, based on what's already available overseas rather than what's actually on shelves here. I write from Japan, not from a translated press release.

This site covers alcoholic beverages. Content here is intended for readers of legal drinking age in their country or region, and I encourage drinking responsibly.

These days I run most of my work from a VPS, using Claude Code and Codex as my day-to-day tools. I'm not chasing a grind — I'd rather build systems that keep working while I'm not looking.
